Medway's Sustainable Food Policy heads to scrutiny
The Sustainable Food Policy developed by the partnership with Medway Council — covering everything the council buys, serves and licenses — is moving through the council's approval process. It sets measurable targets for local spend, plant-rich menus and nature-positive sourcing, and Medway NHS Foundation Trust is preparing to adopt the same framework. We believe it is the first binding policy of its kind in Kent, and a template other authorities can pick up.

Kent & Medway food systems bid submitted to the National Lottery
The partnership has led a consortium bid to the National Lottery Climate Action Fund with Medway Council, Kent Wildlife Trust, NIAB / Growing Kent & Medway, Social Enterprise Kent and the Natural Resources Institute at the University of Greenwich. The bid would scale the Medway model county-wide: institutional kitchens buying Kent-grown, nature-positive food — and the farming transition to supply it.

Kent employers invited to join the good food movement
On 4 September the partnership hosts its first business engagement session, bringing large employers together around practical pledges — local sourcing, healthier workplace food and prompt payment for Kent producers.
